We strive to be a safe and nourishing space.

Our Philosophies:

“We were the people who were not in the papers. We lived in the blank white spaces at the edges of the print. It gave us more freedom. We lived in the gaps between the stories.”
—Margaret Atwood

“Your life is waiting for you to make it art.”
— Toni Morrison

“Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness—and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe. The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling—their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability. Remember this: We be many and they be few. They need us more than we need them. Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
— Arundhati Roy, January 2003, World Social Forum, Porto Alegre, Brazil

“Trust yourself as a writer. Let your creativity tell you what to do. Allow it to be chaotic. Be absorbed and delighted by your obsessions.”
—Jeanette Winterson

“Had I not created my whole world, I would certainly have died in other people’s.”
— Anaïs Nin

“Feminism is a struggle to end sexist oppression. Therefore, it is necessarily a struggle to eradicate the ideology of domination that permeates Western culture on various levels, as well as a commitment to reorganizing society so that the self-development of people can take precedence over imperialism, economic expansion, and material desires.”
— bell hooks

“Self-care is not about self-indulgence, it’s about self-preservation.”
— Audre Lorde
